sweetly broken

well hello everyone! i dont have much time to write, but i wanted to tell you about an experience i had on sunday night. i went to church in the town of canta. we walked into the church and it was dark. i was looking for the lights and then i saw the people lighting candles. i asked what happen to the light cause there was a lamp in the front, but the leader told me that the whole building has to pay the bill before the lights come on and she is the only one that has paid. in talking with her and the others i also found out that the preacher of the church left and has not come back for some time now. my heart went out to these people. we were worshiping and singing and i was just standing there watching because i didnt know the words. I started crying because here these people were and they had nothing. they didn´t have lights, a preacher or anything. I go to church and i complain when i have a seat that is uncomfortable. i was convicted and broken. i was standing in awe of these people. they had it so much better than me and they had way more passion than me. these people that go to the church face persecution because they are not catholic. the people in the town don´t go to them or use them so many times it is hard for them to make a living. these people are willing to give it all up for christ. so next time you think about not going to church because you are tired or you complain because of your seat being uncomfortable....remember that those are things that should not matter. you should be serving christ no matter the cost. do you love him? really love him that you are willing to give up some things?

by the way candle light service and the church is so cool and neat! I head back to lima on friday and then to recuay on saturday. Thanks for praying!
