Waiting

The dictionary defines waiting as being stationary or a delay. However you define it, it is something that is just part of life. We all have to grow through it at some point in our lives. Many times we think we have to wait a lot too. We can't wait to be a teenager, to be 16, to be 18, to vote, to go to college, to get our own place, to date that person, to be 21, to finish school, to have our mate, our own family....we can't wait, we can't wait, we can't wait!

So why is waiting so important? It prepares us for the challenges to come. If you look back on a time where you had to wait on something more than likely you learned some important and life changing things along the way. We always want that thing or that person and it seems like we have to wait forever. Waiting is like endurance. Let me give you an example! In order to be a long distance runner you have to have endurance, but endurance is NOT something that comes easily. You can't just wake up one day and think you can run a marathon. You have to train and you have to start small first. You have to build on those miles slowly at first so that you do not get injured. Waiting is something we all have to do so we do not get injured. Think about something you had to wait for, if you had went ahead and did it you probably would have ended up hurt or injured. You might would have even hurt those around you. Waiting also develops strength that refuses to give up despite all of the suggestions of the enemy that life is hopeless and that its only a matter of time before we get crushed. So what do we do while we wait?

We become sensitive to the leading of the spirit. We praise Jesus and we seek him. He will show us all that is holding us back from fulfilling his purpose. It will be hard and painful, but we grow in these times. God will give us strength to wait and to handle the situation, but only HE can determine the results.

So while you wait.....seek God, but be ready cause its gonna rock your world and that's a promise!
